I watched this amazing kid on TEDx, giving a speech to a room full of adults about what he wanted to be when he grew up. His answer was simple – happy and healthy.
Check it out.

I think we all get caught up in the glitz and glamour of the media and of other people’s lives. I presume you’ve all had a peek (*cough* stalk *cough*) at someone else’s Facebook page and been envious of their life. Do me a favour, the next time looking at someone else’s Facebook makes you feel inferior about your life, go back and look over your own photos. Chances are, you’ll realise you have it pretty good. So take the opportunity to appreciate the good times. And if not, maybe it’s time to shake things up a bit.
Me – happy, healthy and still not quite grown up yet!
So here’s to the bloggers out there that inspired me. All the little things that I appreciate in this amazing world of ours;
And the best place to start, with a cup of tea of course. See tea is magic, it makes everything better. Add in cakes, a few friends and a beautiful tea set and you have yourself the perfect afternoon.
I cannot even begin to tell you how lucky I feel that my parents dragged me, kicking and screaming, through ski school. Being in the mountains is an experience itself let alone when you’re on a pair of skis and flying down a hill. Or even sitting on a chair admiring the spectacular views on your way up.
Hehehe, SPARKLES!!!! Or most things shiny really. Like a magpie I am drawn to things that shine and oh how I fall off into this amazing little dream world. Pretty Shiny things just make me smile. Lots.
And after we immerse ourselves in this shiny fantasy world, of course we need to look the part. There’s just something special about getting dolled up. The transformation from monster to monumental. And when you rock the look, people notice. Who doesn’t love a few compliments and an ego boost!
For me, an extra special treat is heading off to a modelling shoot and going into hair and make-up where you have people fussing over you and making you look like perfection. Then you get to stand in front of the camera, and really I have no idea what I’m doing. I’m very new to it all. But when you get a shot that looks incredible, it makes your day.
A night with the girls… what can I say. Nothing feels as good as that first rush when you get on the dance floor and the music sweeps you away into the night.
The next one is quite simple. Cherry Blossoms. They make me smile.
Take me shopping and that sweet smile from walking past the cherry blossoms will turn into a cheeky grin when I get into the lingerie section! A matching set can boost any girls confidence.
And what better way to enjoy it than dancing round your room, your flat or your house. Particularly if there’s a glass of wine in hand. It’s the little things…
As much as I love a night out with the girls, I also love a night in. There’s usually a bottle or two of wine as apposed to just a glass, followed by lots of giggles.
And if the girls are busy, then just having someone to snuggle up to can make for the perfect evening. Someone to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
The nostalgia of fireworks takes me back to being a kid. The awe and amazement. When life was simple.
The other times I get to feel like a kid again, is when I’m on an adventure. Exploring the world and all the treasures that it holds. Seeing the beauty of this earth and just breathing and enjoying the moment.
So, what are the things that make you happy? The little things in this crazy world of ours that you appreciate and put a smile on your face? Or better yet, what do you want to be when you grow up?
Catch it by the tail x
